by zound ini'm not far away from sending out a bunch of letters to all the jw's who i knew when i was one.
the letters are the accumulation of the last few months of research etc.
i've put a lot of effort into wording things just right so that that the jw's don't instantly throw it in the trash.

Family is drawing the line in the sand
by dissonance_resolved inso my family has obviously been noticing over the past several months that i've been missing meetings and fs.
i've had excuses sometimes, but not others, so my parents are definitely getting that this is more than a long bout of illnesses or fatigue.
i just received an email invitation to join them in service this weekend.

Should I send this letter to my non-JW cousin who refuses to listen to ANY criticism of our JW relatives?

Interesting experience last night
by Gojira_101 ini was hired to interpret for a church event in a neighboring town last night.
i did have a brief moment of thinking demon's would be jumping out to get me as i walked through the front doors of the church, hahahaha, not really, but it did feel awkward at first and i stuck very close to the other interpreter who asked me to help her.
i was definitely out of my comfort zone.. anyway last night i met james walker from the watchmen fellowship.

Excellent post, Gojira_101! I, for one, am pleased that your faith in God is in tact. I am also pleased to personally know many ex-JWs who neither disassociated themselves nor were disfellowshipped, who simply came to realize that the WTB&TS is nothing more than a destructive authority that actually impedes one's personal relationship with God through Christ. Hold your head high when you read Hans Christian Anderson's The Emperor's New Clothes because you possess the courage to announce that the 'emperor' is naked. The WTB&TS, like so many other organizations, relies on a simple fact for its existence: "You can fool some of the people all of the time. And that's enough!"

3 years into my fade

3 years ago to this day something within me made me google my former religion.
it was all the the years of doubts concentrated into one all nighter to have the veil drop like a sack of shit.

The fact is that the WTS has never publicly addressed the issue of registering with the UN in violation of its own published policy; therefore, the "old topic" remains very relevant. By its own standard of judging other religions, the WTS itself stands condemned as an apostate organization.
The World Headquarters letter to its Branch Committee suggests a very flimsy excuse the very purpose of which was to deflect sincere questions by devout JWs who thoroughly understood the WTS's policy concerning such affiliations. One cannot help but wonder who posted the confidential memo on the Internet. Whoever it was performed a great service in doing so.

“9. Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses warn that a flood of executional armies will soon sweep over Christendom. Moreover, they point to the true place of refuge from that flood. They quote Isaiah 28:16, which says: “This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: ‘Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation. No one exercising faith will get panicky.’” Who is this ‘precious cornerstone’? The apostle Peter quoted these words and applied them to Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:6) If Christendom had sought peace with Jehovah’s King, Jesus Christ, then she would have avoided the coming flash flood.—Compare Luke 19:42-44.
“10. However, she has not done so. Instead, in her quest for peace and security, she insinuates herself into the favor of the political leaders of the nations—this despite the Bible’s warning that friendship with the world is enmity with God. (James 4:4) Moreover, in 1919 she strongly advocated the League of Nations as man’s best hope for peace. Since 1945 she has put her hope in the United Nations. (Compare Revelation 17:3, 11.) How extensive is her involvement with this organization?
“11. A recent book gives an idea when it states: ‘No less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN. The “recent book” mentioned in paragraph 11 above is New Genesis: Shaping a Global Spirituality by Robert Muller. The sentence immediately preceding the quoted portion of Muller’s book reported: “All major world religions are accredited to the United Nations as non-governmental organizations.”
Clearly, the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society (WTBTS) denounced all religious organizations which had registered with the United Nations (UN) as non-governmental organizations (NGO), suggesting that such organizations are deserving of execution by God at Armageddon. Yet, in that same year of 1991, the WTBTS, itself, registered with the UN as an NGO.
The WTBTS presumed to set the standard for individual Christians of what constitutes apostasy from the true Christian faith and then callously violated that standard by voluntarily registering with the UN as an NGO and acting essentially as publicity agents for the UN from 1992 to 2001. As awareness of this duplicity on the part of the WTBTS and the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses spreads, conscientious Christians are leaving the organization in large numbers. Still, the WTBTS has yet to offer a public explanation for its curious action in this regard.
In view of the foregoing, would a conscientious Christian be justified in viewing the WTBTS and the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses as apostate organizations? If not, why not?
